No, it's not about Danny Devito's girlfriend on It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia. But, that would be a good game also. Click this shit to go to their website and DL the demo. Looks like fun!

One of my friends had a Star Trek-themed party a week or two back and ran this. Said it was an absolute blast, and they were actually getting decent at it after a while. |

This looks really really neat. Reminds me of a computerized version of a combination GURPS / Star Fleet Battles game I tried to run last year. |

Also, Zach of Zachtronic Industries (maker of SpaceChem and stuff) made an impressively ghetto precursor to this called Flight of the Atropos. |

You mean the later Star Treks. The original was all analog and sticks and levers. Hell, I think they may have even had a steam-powered robot once. |

In TOS Scotty was on the bridge fairly often, sitting at an engineering console in the back left corner (across from Uhura). |

probably coordinates support from other ships, maybe there are fights that can be avoided through a dialogue tree and so forth. "Comm, Hail the lead ship" "Connection established Captain." "Lead ship of the Korochu Armada this is Captain Milkman of the starship Artemis. Eat a bag of dicks. Mr Funnytickle, open fire, im going to take a piss and top off this whiskey sour." |

I can see the communications officer having a MUCH stronger role in a game with several ships run by player teams in different rooms. |
