Shockingly, it kinda makes sense in a sick way. It is a major US initiative to eradicate polio. Also, it has been claimed that the doctor who assisted in killing Osama bin Laden was connected to the US polio vaccination program. This would mean that US agents could be scouting Taliban outposts disguised as those providing polio vaccinations. Now, are you going to let potential spies roam around? |

Well depending on the numbers of children killed by Polio vs the number of children murdered by US drone jocks it might be a good deal, of course they're naive if the think we're going to stop droning any country ever. Hell, when the Chinese sent up their first female astronaut last week we were shadowing their ship with a fancy space drone. We're working on new models that have endurance time in the 4+ day range now, that don't need a pilot to supervise them. The US is steadily working towards getting skynet up and running. In a few years we'll be able to assassinate anyone anywhere on the face of the earth within literal minutes of sanctioning. We won't even have to launch, the drones will be in holding patterns continuously, everywhere. All funded by the taxpayers, while our poor grumble for basic services. The USA, totally not an evil empire. |

The issue isn't the vaccines, it is the spies imbedded illegally in medical units that provide targeting information. Keeping such spies out is a defensive measure against the drones. Saying it is action against vaccinations and won't they please think of the children is just propaganda. |

The funny thing is that if the US doesn't give in, and the vaccines are cut off, people will blame the US for not "thinking of the kids" instead of the Taliban that cut them off in the first place. Politics is weird. |

This is worse than it seems. Having a sizeable unvaccinated population fucks with herd immunity. Not eliminating polio from this group means it could spread and kill children outside this region and fuck up efforts to keep it contained so it can be totally eradicated from the world. It will cost to keep regions which interact with North Waziristan at a constant high rate of immunity. |
