Thanks! My wedding is going to be in a movie theater and I put together a clip show of weddings from various movies and television shows. I asked for suggestions a year ago, and I was updating folks as to what I picked.

Obviously the procession to the chosen shrine should not be

but instead the Imperial March

If you;re after bombastic classical music then I'd go for the ode to joy. (Pachelbel's canon is way overdone)

If you're better half has a sense of humour then go for the Flight of the Valkyries of Dies Irae from the Messiah, or O Fortuna for the big entrance :)

My wife and I were engaged for a bit more than a year before we got married; even with a window of ~14 months to plan, there were still venues that were booked for our desired date, so I'd hardly call it “too long.”

Best of luck to you and your wife!

Weddings are a pain in the ass to organise. We got all the legal stuff done last year (I have pysch problems and I wanted to be sure my husband could step in as required and have my crazy ass hauled away, should it come to that). But now my family are pushing for a party or ceremony of some sort. Bunch of freeloaders. I'm going to spend the money getting our roof fixed, they can come over and enjoy our new roof if they like.
