Dude kills parents with hammer, then hosts a party.

quote [ A 17-year-old boy killed his parents in their Port St. Lucie home and then hid their bodies in a bedroom while he hosted a house party. ]

Everyone felt so hammered the next day.

It's a good flick, it's just very little of it that's "hammer-wielding badass beats up thugs". So it's probably best if you don't go in expecting two hours of just that.
blibblob said @ 8:07pm GMT on 21st Jul
But with the mentality of American movie-viewers what could possibly make it good if it's not an hour and a half of non-stop hammer-wielding badass?

This is spot-on, unless you have interests in the areas of dialog, character development, plot, atmosphere, cinematography, or discussion of certain themes (that I can't go into without ruining the movie) in which case Oldboy is an excellent film. But if all you like is gratuitous fight scenes, definitely stick with Youtube clips.

The twist wasn't well developed, but I would say the movie overall was very satisfying for an action-revenge flick.

I hate to say this, but Clint Eastwood has better directorial chops than Spike Lee ever wished he could.
