That Canadian guy Deadmousey is dabbling in dubstep. Some of it's alright.

Cool, but it just sounds like middle of the road dubstep. Might be better once he carves out his own sound. I think it's interesting to have sites like Soundcloud where the average joe can more easily have a glimpse into an artists mind & musical development. |

Yeah. There are some flashes of brilliance, like the opening to 4 with the deep bass waves. But at the moment perhaps he's too preoccupied with what dubstep should sound like to go his own way and let it flow. But what do I know. |

You're exactly right, Deadmau5 has no real talent, just the ability to emulate those who have pioneered before him. |

Many artists in many genres begin with emulation, and ideally evolve into something new. But I don't think Deadmau5 is shouting from the rooftops about his 'epic new dub5tep track!!' |

I'd say you might want to take a listen to some stuff by Downlink, Cookie Monsta or Datsik. I've heard a couple nice things lately by Bassnectar. Just my taste, which you might not like at all, but it's a starting point! Hope this helps :) |

Bassnectar's New Timestretch EP Excision's '08 Shambhala Mix, darker dubstep Zero 7 - Everything Up (Zizou) Joker & Ginz remix from MIE on Vimeo. Mt. Eden, Rusko, Emalkay, The Widdler, search em up on youtube. Can't go wrong. |

Okay, another question. I remember there being a post about weird Japanese music videos where that Zero 7 song was included. But there was also another music video of some girl beating the crap out of a metal statue. I tried searching for it via "site:sensibleerection.com" but no luck. |

+1 for the Excision. Also the '09 Shambala mix is easily found and really awesome (at least for the first 20 minutes where it's super dark and evil-robot.) I listened to this soooo much this winter, also it's a fun one to blow minds with if you have friends that don't listen to much electronic music. Also check out the record "Extend" by Milanese. also, also, also. |

I like listening to mixes. You'll find a good one at luvstep.com. Also search for conscious pilot, Ealzee and "I love Dubstep". Dubstep allstars is a good compilation album. |

I'd recommend listening to this: Vex'd - Degenerate. They were pretty much the first big names in the scene back in 2007 or so. It doesn't get much better in my opinion. Also get a hold of Mad Ravers Dancefloor by Goth Trad. He's a Japanese guy that was making dubstep for years before the term was even coined. |

What was that French artists name who made the 8-bit dance music? Felt very Streets of Rage-y and I think the track titles were simply different times, like 10:33 or 6:02. |

Deadmau5 can go to hell, fucking bandwagon jumper. Dubstep is the electro house of DnB... another genre Deadmau5 is famous for. Anyways, most of the stuff posted is not really dubstep more closely related to grime and glitch hop. if you want dubstep, you listen to Burial. You'll find the rest from there. |

Dubstep was great for about a month back in 2007. Pretty much everything I've heard since then just sounds like an angry robotic dog having an argument with a liquid drum and bass record that's being played at half speed whilst someone drills a hole in the wall. |
