WTF.. The Democrats in the US senate are at it again.

quote [ Dodd Calls Obama Plan Too Grand ]

After allowing the GOP to water down Healthcare reform in a call for bipartisanship they are about to gut bank-reform....AGH..the same way!
They better not get rid of the filibusterer just yet, they are going to need it, because they are going to get their collective asses handed to them in the midterms.

1st of all this problem is bigger than healthcare. Ok it's not killing more people than both wars the US is fighting, like the health care system is doing, but this can affect monetary systems world wide.
You non Americans for the most part got sick of us ..OK me ranting about healthcare but you had better take an interest in this little show because its not just some of us dumb Americans who are dying, this time those guys in New York are playing roulette with a hell of a lot of money and some of it is yours!

"You know the big banks have gotten bigger.

As Rolfe Winkler noted last September:

For the big have gotten even bigger since the start of the financial crisis. At the end of 2007, the Big Four banks — Citigroup, JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America and Wells Fargo — held 32 percent of all deposits in FDIC-insured institutions. As of June 30th, it was 39 percent."

The chairman of the Senate Banking Committee warned on Tuesday that the Obama administration’s new proposals to rein in Wall Street firms ran the risk of derailing months of delicate negotiations over overhauling financial regulations.

Here is a new name we may be hearing a lot more about..hey at least his daughters are hot.

Corker became one of the only sixteen Senators who opposed the tax rebate stimulus plan.[21] Later, he had described the stimulus package that passed Congress as "silly".[22]

On December 2008, Corker opposed a Democratic proposed federal bailout for the failing US automakers,[24] and expressed doubt that the companies would be salvaged.[25] Corker proposed that federal funds be provided for automakers only if accompanied by cuts in labor costs and other concessions from unions.[26]

Michael More as with healthcare has been way ahead of the mainstream media again and his movie is now on DVD.

How Big are the banks..Ok I have heard it enough, I'm doing it.
These institutions we are talking about are NOT BANKS!
They are insurance companies and investment brokers NOT BANKS.
They only got to call themselves banks after the Regan and Clinton deregulation.

If you redraw the chart so that the portion "does not look like pac-main is at the top" then that wedge expands to fill the entire chart.

Iam sorry... I think I misunderstood your post...

What is the issue? He isn't going after reform for the finance sector?? or he is??

or not enough???

I get you are saying the banks are too big... so are you claiming we have a plutocracy? (we do)

Whats the link in with healthcare? You are upset that the republicans watered it down?
bbqkink said @ 6:38am GMT on 11th Mar
Ok there has like health care been a big push for reform on wallstreet.
A decent bill like healthcare passed the house.
Now in the senate like healtcare it is being watered down to a nothing law unilaterally by the Democrats in the senate to a republican minority who will vote against any meaningful reform..just like healthcare.

And yes the invest banks are much too big.
zenviper said @ 6:43am GMT on 11th Mar
But I watch conservative media... They don't want health care reform... and they don't want reform in the financial sector. They would claim socialism, redistribution of wealth etc etc....

I do agree however that real reform needs to happen. I don't think it is a partisan issue however. I think all politicians are responsible for their inaction. Republicans trying to block anything, and democrats for not moving faster and pulling bs like the abortion card.

I guess it doesn't matter, like I said, we live in a plutocracy and we are a little too far along to pull in the reigns in a meaningful way... unless maybe... maybe through improved education and the uncensored internet.

bbqkink said @ 6:53am GMT on 11th Mar
This is only partisan in so much as EVERY republican and some conservative Democrats are beholding to big businesses more than their constituents.
bbqkink said @ 6:45am GMT on 11th Mar
And as to the plutocracy, yes I agree we do and the only defense the average man has is the legislature.
In our case the US senate is bought and paid for..sorry about our luck.

seems that way to me, cheers!

This gives me an idea-- give grammar corrections in the comments of a new post even if there are no grammatical errors in the post itself. Make the OP look like an idiot!

Wall Street runs this country. You're smoking some strong shit if you think "financial reform" is going to actually reign in the banks and the rest of the parasites.

Overthrow the system and start anew?
bbqkink said @ 7:49am GMT on 11th Mar
Had little hope they would do anything with real meaning to control the wall street crowd. That became obvious when they snubbed their noses at the Whitehouse after the bail out.
I was just amazes at the democrats, who after a year of the games around health care compromised their position with a superposed minority without ever firing a shot.
The democrats remind me of the French military.

"For sale French military rifle, never fired only dropped once."

Oh, it would also seam that it is only tough for some.
Like always the rich get richer.

U.S. Millionaire Tally Soared 16% in ‘09

The number of Ultra High Net Worth households, or those with a net worth of $5 million or more (not including primary home), rose 17% to 980,000 in 2009.

The millionaire population is still far short of the 9.2 million counted by the Chicago wealth-research firm at the peak in 2007. But the trend shows that the recovery is well underway–at least for the wealthy.

“The nation’s millionaires–together with its Ultra High Net Worth households–are bouncing back from the recession,” said George H. Walper Jr., president of Spectrem Group.

In addition to the millionaire groups, the broader affluent population, those with a net worth of $500,000 or more, climbed 12% in 2009 to 12.7 million.

I wasn't upset until I read the startling claim, "his daughters are hot." When important issues such as this arise, we, as American citizens need to hold our politicians feet to the fire and uncover photographic evidence of such startling allegations.

Then I googled Sen. Dodd, and found out his daughter's are 5 and 9 years old. And I was like...dude...

Then I guessed you were talking about Corker's daughters.
