Sensible Monsters Day 7
quote [ Merry Christmas to everyone on SE, especially all Mafia players of Christmas Past, Present and Future. Come on in! ]
spite_48 was found dead, a trail of sand leading from his room. He was a patient, but holy hell are those dropping like flies.
[mafia game] [by eightysix@7:08pmGMT] [+9 Good] The halls of the home were filled that day with spectres, some of them familiar that we've seen die before our eyes, and some unfamiliar to us. They seemed benign and didn't seem at all interested in the events at hand. The windows were frosted over and it snowed last night. Some of us put on our boots and went pottering about outside. plexer today. Just to remind people, beerboy was found to be a patient by googirl yesterday. Yes we may still have a wolf man running around, but it's probably best to try and whittle down the number of non-patient listed people first. As after all, we may have already killed the wolf man and chasing after a *potential* monster who may already be dead doesn't seem like a wise use of a lynch. |

So all we have left to find is Mummy and Wolf Man. Based on voting histories, intuition, and noodles thrown at the wall, these are the six I'm leaning towards. Googirl I trust more than the rest because she seemed honest about the prediction, but she also seems shifty. beerboy fifthspango plexer redemption googirl007 flying_cannibal I guess I'll go with the plexer party. |

So googirl, anyone in particular you investigated last night? |
|
cb361
said @ 8:43pm GMT on 25th Dec
My advice would be not to tell us explicitly if you investigated a patient because that would make them a target. In the end-game we're going to need as many confirmed townies as possible. |
|
penisinface
said @ 8:50pm GMT on 25th Dec
fool! let us know who the confirmed townies are so that we may form an allegiance. |
|
cb361
said @ 9:26pm GMT on 25th Dec
The right time for that is when any remaining members of the archaeologists decide to go public. If they time it right and there are sufficient of them, then they might win the game for us. If there are more confirmed townies than suspects, then the town wins by default because it is impossible for the monsters to kill off the confirmed townies before all the suspects are lynched. More confirmed townies by googirl0007 (provided she's not a monster) increase our chances of establishing this town-win scenario. And to prevent this, the monsters will seek to kill off unprotected confirmed-townies as quickly as possible. |
|
flying_cannibal
said @ 7:02am GMT on 26th Dec
the society needs to out themselves pretty soon otherwise we will keep voting for townies. of course if some of them have abilities, best to keep quiet, same for Van Helsing. |

From the desk of Dr. Frankenstein: Your gratitude is compensation enough for leading you to the two deadliest monsters in the home. My work is still producing results, as today I am pleased to inform you that I have discovered redemption to be a patient. As a reminder, redemption joins Silent and beerboy as our only housemates that are scientifically proven not to be monsters. The Wolf Man is not a monster in the eyes of science. I look forward to today's debate, Dr. Frankenstein PS. My room is hardly adequate for the type of work you all have been demanding of me. I have commandeered the parlor downstairs as my laboratory, and I will not tolerate interruptions of my work. PPS. Since you saw fit to lynch my assistant, Igor, I am now assigning menial tasks to Nurse Nancy, such as delivering you this message. She shall also receive no more than your gratitude. |

Upon lynching plexer and seeing his name on the wall join 17 others, he literally unraveled in front of us. The only thing left of him was a pile of sand and a bunch of bandages. plexer was the Mummy. That evil evil person! "What now?" we looked at each other, anticipating the worst. "We still might have the wolf man. Or he might have died." The names on the wall started to fade away slowly, like a polaroid developing, except instead of the images appearing, the names disappeared. The doors flew open and a gust of wind blew through the entire mansion, a calm, relaxing breeze as if to signal to us that this was all over. We didn't hesitate to go out the door. The Patients Win. "...but, who was the wolf man?" One of us asked. "I guess it doesn't matter now." |

Because if the Wolfman had survived, he'd show up as human to investigations so just cause he'd been investigated didn't make him innocent, just limited who he might've been. |
|
spite48
said @ 10:14pm GMT on 27th Dec
I know some people hate it when I rehash games - but here I go anyways. We had no way of knowing if we'd already killed the wolfman, (which it turns out we had) but we did know we had to kill the mummy. In other words, if the patients had relied upon the investigator, and voted for unknowns, then there was a good chance that by the time the mummy was located and destroyed, the wolfman would also have been destroyed. voting for someone just on the off-chance that they were the wolfman, when we had no reliable way to detect him, seemed odd to me. But I was recently dead and couldn't really comment at the time. |

I'll start my basic SE concept game in the meantime. Here are the rules again: 1) Participation is mandatory for all SE members. No need to follow a complicated sign-up procedure. 2) As a basic version of the game, there are no mafia or mason groups, no special roles, and there is no lynch vote. 3) As flavour text can be confusing, there is none, and therefore there is no need for a main-page entry. The game, once commenced will continue indefinitely. And.... start. |
