Republican Party Begins to Eat its Own

quote [ Fox News reports that Palin didn't know Africa was a continent and did not know the member nations of the North American Free Trade Agreement -- the United States, Mexico and Canada -- when she was picked for vice president. ]

How does one continue with a choice such as that?

Remember that Fox is after all a mouthpiece for Rupert Murdoch, who despite his famously conservative leanings is the ultimate pragmatist. He has been known to suck up to leaders of both parties (including the Clintons), wisely hedging his bets in changing times.
Wouldn't be surprised that Uncle Rupert actually likes Obama, or at least wants to hold back a bit and see what happens in the near future. Above all he must know that everyone, including NewsCorp, may end up better off under an Obama administration if an economic collapse is still a dire possibility. Above all else Murdoch is a prudent businessman - so don't be too shocked to find Fox, NY Post, WSJ, and other NewsCorp holdings moderating back the traditional party line.

I don't know if this is funny or sad really.

Most of the people I have talked to about the election and who they voted for have all had the same reaction. They didn't particularly care for either candidate, but they did know they didn't want Palin anywhere NEAR the whitehouse.

I can't help but laugh when I hear people speculate that she's a lock for the republican nominee in '12.
anger_die said @ 11:09pm GMT on 6th Nov
The only way her credit can be restored to the point of even being considered as a potentially successful nominee in the next decade is if Jesus really did come back from the dead and backed her.

Having gotten as far as she had, and with all the subsequent heavily damaging shit about her exposed that comes as a risk with striving for such great popularity, she's basically done.

No, if jesus-freaks want a shot at next election, they'll have to sneak in a brand new religious zealot. Only next time, they'd have to give rise to a candidate -way- more reserved about expressing their beliefs until finally in office, like Bush.
