Anyone else missing the "we are rockstars" track in the download? My zip only contained tracks 1,3,4,5 & the extras.

No.

Weird. I had to download a second time to get the track. The first zip wasn't corrupted, it just didn't contain all the songs.

While you're there downloading this, be sure to pick up The Slip by Nine Inch Nails, the new album Reznor is releasing for free. Or get the torrent: (FLAC) (Apple Lossless)

I've been told that he plans on releasing 6 full albums for free online this year. I guess that's what you do when you love to make music and are no longer bound by contracts.

How do you know what you know?

Justified true belief?

I guess that's what you do when you love to make music and are no longer bound by contracts.

And you are an established artist with a solid career and are no longer trying to make ends meet. Many artist release free tracks and complete CDs but fail to make a splash, why? Lack of quality or they just can't continue unless they land a contract.
Anyways, good for Trent. Now, how about those gig ticket prices?

This has nothing to do with my comment.

No it doesn't.

NIN has been awfully generous lately. Awesome.

More like just awful lately. The last three albums have been garbage. I'd release that shit free too, as I can't picture anyone paying for it.
thezzie said @ 5:47am GMT on 5th Jun
by the last three u mean year zero, ghosts, and the slip? ghosts is what it is... but the slip and year zero are some of his best stuff ever. almost as good as downward spiral.

I've found that his more recent work tends to be off-putting at first (initially, I hated 90% of Year Zero).

However, after continued listening, I really adore both Year Zero and The Slip. I also like many songs on Ghosts, and most of them make for good music to play in the background of games.

I am seeing NIN in August. I wish the tickets had been as inexpensive as this music.

Covox Castles is awesome.
Amul Muzz said @ 3:33pm GMT on 5th Jun
Except Covox sucks.

He must be the luckiest guy in the world, having his crappy music transformed into gold without his knowledge.
Amul Muzz said @ 3:49pm GMT on 5th Jun
A) Although I think they are awesome, you will have a hard time remembering anything about these guys next year. Hardly gold.

B) What was taken (most likely was) is just an aspect of the song. Once credit and perhaps some money is exchanged it will most likely be over and done once they settle the creative commons legalities.

C) Covox looks like a tard, spazzing out behind a keyboard. I dont know the lo-bats. Alice Glass looks hot when she screams.
Dioxin said @ 6:01pm GMT on 5th Jun
A) Petty theft is still theft. Theft by a poor man is still theft. Theft by soon to be musical nobodies is still theft. You get the idea.

B) You make the proper amends sound trivial. Yet if that were so, why didn't CC do the right thing in the first place? Plus it wasn't just an isolated case, with a single artist. Similar issues have come up with CC's promotional art and multiple other tracks.

C) I started listening to Covox a long time ago. In fact, I have a demo version of one of his earliest tracks that ended up sounding quite different upon release. But only until very recently did I actually witness him perform. And you're right, he can look like a tard doing his grunge impression while twiddling knobs. But that doesn't change the fact that I find some of his music fantastic, or more importantly, that his music is his intellectual property, protected under license, which CC used without attributing credit.
