quote [ Arthur C. Clarke, author of 2001: A Space Odyssey and a man considered one of the world's top science fiction writers, has died. ]
He put himself to the fullest possible use, which is all I think that any conscious entity can ever hope to do.
Unfortunately none of my emergency repost material really seems appropriate.

I wasn't even going to try and post. No doubt you were seconds late on the trigger. |

That's what I get for taking an extra minute to find an appropriate quote. |

Reposts, quick as a gun flash in the night, which one will survive? Also I was just finishing, "Childhood's End." He lived a long life though. |

A death noteworthy enough for two posts. First SF novel I ever read, in fact the first 'grown-up' novel of any kind - '2001'. Followed immediately by 'Childhood's End'. |

Not the best of the 20th century, but one of a few immortals. With Asimov, Heinlein, and now him gone, that era is definitively over. And now I'll probably never visit Sri Lanka :/ |
