Ecch. Anything this blatant and cliched annoys me, even if I agree.

Where and when did you get that photo? I saw this exhibition in a booth at Comic Con International in 07 I think. That mask totally sucked as did many of them, but there were a couple of really cool ones. Is there an online photo gallery of all of them somewhere?

The io9 blog is actually pretty interesting for a sci-fi geek like myself. I've wasted a good two hours browsing their stuff. Some might call it overly hostile toward the medium (they feature mostly negative review of various movies/shows) but that's pretty much my taste. My favorite so far is "Six Reasons why Star Trek Should Stay Dead".

It's a great list. It just needs to be followed with "10 Reasons Paramount should turn creative control of the Star Trek franchise over to VictorTyne".
snowfox said @ 9:53pm GMT on 2nd Jan

The people at DC Comics openly admit I know Batman better than they do. So how bout this, I'll race you to the group editor position. Whoever loses has to write the non-canon Legends of the Dark Knight.

Until I see it in DC nation, then it hasn't happened.

I'd rather write the children's comic than edit anything. Editing is for hacks that have stayed in the industry but have no talent drawing or writing.

Not always been that way. Dennis O'Neil was Batman group editor for a damn long time and contributed a lot to the modern Batman mytho. Also, don't count on seeing it in DC nation any time soon, but if you go to a pannel with Bob Wayne and Dan DiDio that I'm at...

Weren't the stormtroopers retconed as being all f them mass-produced clones of Bobba Fett's dad?

These posters are not canon! Shame on you people, for not noticing.

"Although most of the stormtroopers in the Star Wars movies turned out to be vat-grown clones of Boba Fett's daddy, perhaps some of them were citizens from around the Empire doing their duty."

Shame on you for not noticing!
Kimota said @ 11:22pm GMT on 2nd Jan
What? Are you secondguessing Lucas now. Bad nerd! Bad!
kang said @ 11:56pm GMT on 2nd Jan
I think it makes more sense that in later movies/generations, the troopers were at least partly replaced with citizens or other altered beings.

Having them all be clones doesn't jive with things like:

- Leia's comment that Luke was a little small to be a stormtrooper. Jango Fett was not a big guy either.
- The fact that the STs do have different voices in Episodes 4-6.
- I kind of think Ben would have told the Rebels where all the bad guys are coming from eventually.
- STs are notoriously bad shots with the lowest of survivability. Shouldn't Jango's clone be a decent shooter at least, otherwise what's the point?

Eh, whatever.

I definitely concur with you, i have thought that exact same thing for a long time. I don't really get into the star wars books and other reading material, but i do play video games. In battle front II, they definitely explain that the storm troopers are being replaced with new civilian recruits. Besides, my storm trooper figure with the removable helmet bears little, or no resemblance to Jango.
Kimota said @ 12:47am GMT on 3rd Jan
-Still taller than diminutive teenager Luke. Actually, that would make her surprise more understandable, as Stormtroopers would all have the same size.
-Glitches in their communication system.
-Ben was a dick. He didn't even told (single and horny) Luke that he was going to meet her own (somewhat bangable) sister. For no reason.
-Because of errors in the process being repeated and multiplied in every subsequent generation, they had lost most of their skills, like the bad photocopies they were, but still were kept because their sheer number was useful, even if they were lousy shoots.

See? Lucas' madness is perfectly fanwankable.
mos said @ 4:16am GMT on 3rd Jan

*sigh* Spoken like uncultured heathen. These are canon due to the simple fact that the clones were an incarnation of the early portion of the Empire. As such, no posters required since they didn't need to recruit. You have to understand that the actual size of the clone army numbered in the millions while they had to contend w/ the supposed billions1 of the Trade Federation robot army as well as supplemented by the planetary armies of the secessionist states of the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Now, post-Clone Wars, it was seen as a necessity to augment their clone forces2 w/ non-clones as the success of planetary armies from the previous conflict became self-evident as well as the fact that the clone armies weren't going to be replenished anymore due to financial/logistic conflicts w/ clone-producing planet Kamino as well as strict Imperial regulations that recently were made law.3 So, although they had a grand imperial army, they had no longer had any way to replace any units that died. That's why during the time period of the Battle of Yavin, clones were already phased out.4

1The billions of robots was recently called into question in the Star Wars: Republic Commando series due to inaccurate logistics which lead 'certain' parties to consider the idea of a conspiracy. *cough*the Machiavellian scheming of Darth Sidious*cough*

2Further detailed in Star Wars: Allegiance by Timothy Zahn

3Explained in Star Wars: True Colors

4Except for the various small clone groups that escaped and led lives isolated from the galaxy at large which are mentioned in various Star Wars books.
