Seeing as The White Stripes new cd Icky Thump is on the verge of release I thought it prudent to post a link to the (by far) most extensive Stripes guitartabs/lyrics/gear info site out there.

I dig the Stripes and all, but the fact is that they hit their musical peak with "Elephant". Their entire sound is a throwback to an earlier one, and as a result, there's really not much more they can do with it. I like White's voice, I like his guitar-work, I like two or three of his songs a lot, but to compare the man with Bob Dylan (I won't even mention the Dante reference) is...how can I put this...reaching? |

The worst/most overrated fucking band. He can't sing, and she can only just about hit the drums at about the right time. And their newest track is a joke....i'm sure. |

More importantly, they can't write decent music OR lyrics. If someone isn't that great a musician, but has something good to perform it's worth listening to. Or vice versa. But crappy musicians AND crappy music? Yeah... just not worth the time. |
