This went out the window on day 2 because, mainly, I was not prepared to put that much work into it. Notes on the roles: MrSlippyFist was a cop originally, BUT as he died in the first cull, I gave it to King Leo (citizen originally) thinking he would be a good cop. Boy was I wrong. Misanthrope became the werewolf because he was just going to be another serial killer and well, an emo kid fit the bill. It was only later I decided to make it a werewolf. Lycan/Misan thrope had nothing to do with it. Carrotboi was made the godfather because he's a good friend of mine and I asked what side he wanted to be on. He chose mafia and so I decided that he'd be the godfather. Everyone else was random. Except Narrenschiff. He was meant to be a citizen. I sent him the note meant for plexer (they are right next to each other on my spreadsheet). On the upside, plexer protected nobody. Names, Jobs and Roles First of all, Fish Mechanic. I was tired, I don't know. It amused me. I owe an appology to eskimonoise for making him the sexy-time dancer. It was a dig at the I'm gay, no I'm not posts that happened just before we started. It was low and I feel he deserves a permanent +1 awesome mod to everything he does for posting the player lists every day. Absolute champion. Some of the jobs were puns/jokes about the name of the player and most were pretty obvious too. The mafia jobs were themed for the most part. Pool shark was obvious, along with lawyer and waste disposal. The Millionaire bankrolled the operation, the fisherman got people to sleep with fish and the construction worker provided the concrete. Pizza boy went door to door killing people, the pig farmer cut up bodies and fed them to pigs whilst the mayoral aide had inside information from the local government. The teppanyaki chef was on mobster exchange, like I said. Kama Sutra practitioner? It's best not to ask. And qtemo the myspace blogger was a pisstake too. Although, just about every 2 bit organisation has a myspace page now. Now the gym teacher was a prime candidate for the vigilante. I meant, how many gym teachers have you had that hate teaching gym? They only do it beacuse they weren't good enough to teach a real subject. And the chemistry teacher for survivalist. I thought a nerdy science guy would be more likely to have this illusion that the government was out to get him and needed to arm himself for the rapture or whatever. All other roles were me trying to fill out the spreadsheet in haste before the game was to start. Things I've learnt *Never run a 50 person game ever again. *Doctors have a tendency to protect the same person every night. I swear, that Defiance falcon was protected by both narren and eskimo like the whole time. *MadLobster is insane and STILL owes me an appology for kicking me off the mafia board because he was just so super awesome that noone would have investigated him, so I obviously cheated and told the town he was mafia. I told you it was more than likely someone in the mafia had turned on you, and I was right. Maybe if you weren't such a tool it never would have happened. That's about all I can think of right now and don't want to spend too much longer typing this up, so if there's anything else, please ask and I'll do my best. |

if people don't get this, my lurker status went on haitus with my comment on the game. And so, to make me feel at home someone voted to lynch me. I was touched (since I wasn't in the game... obviously). I'd look up the posts, but I'm exhausted. I do appreciate being brought into a participating role of the SE community. Maybe, soon I will make my very first post. |

"Things I've learnt *Never run a 50 person game ever again." +1 Excellent life lesson. Also, apologies for never protecting anyone. Life got rapidly insane, and I didn't have enough time to devote to a game of this magnitude. I would have been protecting randomly - and I figured I'd be better off protecting no one than protecting randomly. Maybe I was wrong. But then again maybe I would have just been protecting Mafia the whole time. Of course, now life is just boring and I've got nothing to do besides read SE posts. Poor timing on my life's behalf. Cheers to CapnSilver for hosting. |

Gee it sounds to me like CapnSilver owes MadLobster an apology, not the other way around. It certainly turns out that MadLobster was right not to trust him. So CapnSilver has now admitted to cheating in both werewolf and sopranos. I'd hate to play mumbly peg with him... |

I apologize. I misunderstood. "so I obviously cheated and told the town he was mafia" was sarcasm, wasn't it? My mistake. However, communicating with other players after you were dead in werewolf is not breaking the spirit but not the letter of the rules. It's breaking the spirit AND the letter of the rules. |

Sorry again, I meant communicating secretly with other dead players. Maybe it's too late for me to be critical. You're right. I'm wrong. I'm going to sleep... |

Oh, sarcasm! Sorry man. Text and sarcasm never go well together. I can't actually remember the details of the rules and I wont be looking them up but I'm pretty sure it was only breaking the spirit. Could be wrong. It's not like I'm trying to say I did no wrong. If anyone is wondering, I was the cop/seer and messaged the first dead mason member. They, in turn, passed that message on to every one else. PM's were encouraged in Sensible Howling, but I have a feeling dead players should have stayed dead. Meh Town still lost. |

Just to be clear. If Solitude revealed his role by PM, the fault is his own. I'm sure people are still PMing in the new game and it's going to get more of them killed as well. |

No what got me killed is by trying to reveal my role to King Leonidas without PMing. I gave way many hints to my role which i hoped would be obvious. But unfortunately that didn't work for KL. Someone else obviously thought it suspicious though so I got to sleep with da fishies. What I then did was the following: CapnSilver had said no PMing for citizens. Since both KL and I were not citizens I thought the PMing would be okay. But before I did so I PMed CapnSilver to ask if it was okay we PMed. When I didn't get a reply I PMed him again, and when I still didn't get a reply I thought well what the heck I'll just go ahead and do it anyway, because if I'm not allowed to PM then my role has become pretty much useless. Also I don't agree with the new rule of no PMing, I think it's good for the viewers of the game, but very bad for the actual players. At least as long as everyone plays fair and nobody contacts dead people, and dead people stay dead. |

I think the general rule is no PMing except for Mafia or groups like the Thorners. (This means no PMing for doctors, cops etc). It has always seemed to work well in the past. |

Each role in mafia has different problems that the player has to try to overcome. That's the purpose of the game. Not being able to PM makes the Investigator role much more difficult, but I feel that how the player addresses those problems is what makes the game. If the Investigator could reveal their results anonymously it would be a totally different game. Of course the mafia would flood the anonymous channel with garbage. |

wow. My life as a pizza delivery boy was a lot more sordid and violent than I thought... I thought of myself as a general go-between and something of a drug-runner, but there I am, in black and white, killing people in door-to-door rampages. go me! |

Yeah, I think that I meant for you to be the "random person" that was with juju at my place when I died. I didn't make it obvious enough that anyone got it, but that's probably for the best. |

There have been, I believe, instances of mafia leading lynches against their own members :) Serves the dual purpose of ridding the mafia of a less tactical member, and makes them look super innocent. |

My advice to future hosts: 1. Visit mafiascum.net. Read the tutorial on hosting. Pay attention to the suggested numbers of mafia/villagers/special roles. Theres a decent statistical treatment of the numbers on the mafia wiki for those not convinced. 2. Always assign roles randomly. Giving the role of godfather to a friend was a big mistake (I'm sure Capn would agree?). Once you start trying to rig the game in any sort of way, it just gets too complicated. Throw them all in together, and let stats sort them out :) Do things like descriptions randomly as well, if possible. 3. Never change someones role after the game has started. If the villagers and mafia between them kill all the specials off on day one, then go go mafia! Theres no reason a game shouldn't end in one or two days. Its improbable, but not impossible. Anyway. Thats my experience from hosting several games on the GL. And seems to sum up everything the Capn didn't like about the way he hosted. |

I absolutely agree 99%. The 1% is that in rare cases, it's important to not assign key roles to certain individuals, i.e. if you know they're not going to bother playing or if you know they've got a very strong death wish. For instance, if I were running a game I'd be very hesitant to assign a vital role to victortyne. I know it's a slipperly slope, but sometimes you have to make a couple exceptions. |

Giving my friend the godfather worked well enough because I careful saying anything, tryed not to rig it in any direction. Anything I did accidentally reveal directly or indirectly (by accident), carrotboi was far too lazy to tell anyone. Sure I made mistakes but hey, I'll admit, once I revealed Dioxin I was super pissed at myself but didn't know how to fix it, so hey, the show went on. I've read mafia scum but so many people wanted to play and I didn't want to be a bastard to anyone. It was long and hard (hot pr0n) but it went well enough. Once again, sorry for everything that could have been handled better. |

I'm pretty sure I said there was no corelation between jobs and roles. It was a filthy lie. |
But as some people just wussed out, here is a list of everybody and what they were with some explanations from me about where I fucked up and what I did wrong.
Nothing about what I did right because there's not a whole lot of that.
If you don't care about sensible sopranos, just move on and ignore this post.
