quote [ Ya hear him howlin around your kitchen door, ya better not let him in. ]
"Being a turnip farmer was a job for tough men, and TheCooler was one of them. His body, stronger than anybody else's in the town, now was missing, while his head rested in a pick-axe nailed to the wall of his house. If even a turnip farmer was unable to face the werewolves, what hance did the rest of them had. The Necromancer examined TheCooler's body. "Oh, my" he said, "I sense a really burning hatred towards our king. He was a Thorner. I'm beginning to think that the werewolves are all for the monarchy." Then he left. It's been five days now. Let the blood-thirsty mob decide what to do next." Yes they are. Looking at those numbers. So many innocents killed and only one werewolf caught. Remiq implicated Nick. Nick turned out to be a werewolf. Good guess Remiq. Now we are reasonably sure that Remiq isn't a wolf. Remiq also implicated me. I'm not a wolf. If the town folk think having a leader is a good idea Remiq would be a decent choice since we have evidence he's a townie. Seer might want to seer him and co-ordinate on Lynch targets. The fact that he's implicated me tells me that he's not the seer. |

Considering he also implicated Context who we lynched yesterday, I think he just had one lucky guess. It makes his innocence reasonably believable, but I don't think he has a grander scheme or anything. That doesn't mean I think you are definately innocent. I just think there's no good reason I should think you're not, other than that everyone could be a wolf at this moment. |

Here is my logic for voting to lynch Narrenshiff. He voted to lynch both people lynched on the first two days. I haven't checked the third and fourth days. I figure a wolf would be happy to throw their vote at whichever non-wolf was leaning towards a lynching. |
|
solitude
said @ 6:47am GMT on 27th Apr
Actually I'd rather think a wolf would prevent a connection with a lynching if at all possible, exactly because people will be looking back to lynchings. I think it's a much better idea to lynch people on the basis of what they said instead of what they voted. Especially the first two days people are just throwing votes around, because everything is suspicion and conjecture. I think it would be much wiser to go about this sensibly. Obviously the wolves have had enough information in our conversations to deduce three special characters already. Why haven't we used that information as well, if at least to better protect ourselves?! |

I propose we go about this entirely different. We have the exact same information as the wolves, however they are using it a lot more succesfully. Our current tactics merely resemble randomness. We have got to come up with a better way to get these bastards. Perhaps if we got vocal about who we DO trust, then that might give us an alliance. Remiq (we have established him as reasonably trustworthy right?) could then voice the seer's findings without anyone else finding out who that person is. Also then we should allways find a most trusted person in that alliance in case the "voice" get's killed. A big problem is that we have lost the protector, so we need another way of guarding the seer. This might be a good idea? This alliance might contain a wolf, but not probable in the higher trust regions. And if the seer only communicates wolf targets a wolf would drop through easily. Only problem is that there needs to be "some" trust before this might work. What do you guys think? Could this work? |
|
thumble
said @ 7:49am GMT on 27th Apr
What you propose signs the death warrant for remiq. No good announcing a trustworthy leader when there is no protector. It just paints big red targets on everyone you add to your trust list. |
|
solitude
said @ 9:19am GMT on 27th Apr
Good point (*sad-sigh*) It's just that I don't know what else to do. There has to be some way we can get an alliance of trustworthy people together. If only to get some backing behind the seer. |
|
solitude
said @ 9:21am GMT on 27th Apr
The point remains though. How come they can find all our special characters with the same information we have. It seems to me we should have some idea of where to look. |
|
thumble
said @ 4:53pm GMT on 27th Apr
Well if remiq is willing to sacrifice himself to root out these bastards then I do think your plan is sound. By collating info about who trusts who and who suspects who we should be able to build a bigger picture of what's going on. |

I agree that remiq is reasonably trustworthy at this point and that is the best we have to go on. But we also need to consider that it is POSSIBLE that he is a werewolf. And that the Nick situation could have been a ploy by the wolves to sacrifice one of their own in a very public dispute between two of them. This creates a false trust of remiq on the part of the remaining villagers. Hypothetically assume that remiq IS a werewolf. Now remember that remiq's lynching was virtually a done deal when he managed to turn the tables and get Nick lynched. Okay, so the wolves were already fairly sure that one of their own was going to die. Why not use this situation to insure that one of them has a strong argument for being a villager? Have a public dispute. Then, no matter which of them dies, the other one has established some sort of trust with the villagers by flushing out a known werewolf. This increases the likelihood of his survival to the end of the game. Maybe the seer will even contact the survivor. Now the werewolves don't even have to kill the seer, because he is in contact with them and they know who he's checking up on. They can kill the seer at any time if he gets suspicious. I would presume that the seer has already checked remiq, but maybe remiq is the alpha wolf? If I were the alpha wolf I would consider it a viable strategy to behave like remiq in order to be lure the seer into investigating me. In spite of all that, I still think that remiq is the best trust link we have at this point. I am willing to follow the theory that he is a villager a little bit longer, but if it doesn't produce results, we need to seriously consider the possibility that he is not to be trusted. I certainly don't think we should put all our eggs in remiq's basket (I invite witty retorts on that one) Anyway, I've gotten an hour's sleep in the last 32 hours and I may very well be delirious. I was dreaming when I wrote this, so lynch me if it goes astray... |
|

said @ 7:23am GMT on 27th Apr
I still think that trying for the previously less vocal villagers may be a viable option. At this point they might start speaking their part, but that's probably a ruse of some sort. |
