I had the shock of my life when I went to the US a couple of months ago and many of the shows I knew and loved had had their sound tracks entirely redone. Not just the fucking awful english voice acting but also the music too. There were some, like One Piece where what was supposed to be a comical scene was reinvented to seem serious. So it's no fucking wonder if most of anime seems kind of trashy. It is so far removed from the orig that it is an entirely new show.

It's not the Americanisation that I despise, but the way that they shoehorn these series into something they weren't intended to be, and end up producing something that feels uncomfortable, half-assed, and broken. Example: Teen Titans is as American as can be, and yet it's far better than any of the dubbed anime CN is showing. That it's not been censored, and that the voice actors are competent, and under the direction of the original director is, I think, the reason.
