+1 Freddy Mercury. He's the only reason I don't laugh at the themesong from Flash Gordon: The Movie. |

His musical talent features a stock pile of different attributes such as VARIETY! ABUNDANCE! and SINGING STYLES that are different from one another. As if that weren't enough, he's got a surprise ace up his sleeve- VARIATION!!!!! |

agreed. in fact, reading about the technical details of any musicianship is dead boring to any non-musician (not to mention kind of beside the point of how good the songs are). |

There's a nice little bio of him on wikipedia.. he's a Persian raised in India who led one of the most 'British' sounding bands of all time. Interesting guy. |

He actually was Fardoon Balsara, a Zoroastrian , from India. Another famous Zoroastrian Indian musician is Zubin Mehta (conductor- NY Philharmonic) BTW: Zorostrians from India are called Paris's, an intresting bunch, only a handful left around 30,000 to 60,000. They are often regarded as the concience of Indian Business, if you want to learn good corporate governance, fair and moral corporate governance, all you needed to do was see the business practices of the large Parsi Industrial Houses and how they were managed, right from 1947 onwards. |

My favorite freddie mercury story is that so few of the fans realized that he was gay that at a memorial for him, some fans started heckling a gay tribute band to queen. I mean, for christ sakes, the band was NAMED queen. |
