"Musical Furry Lobster" Captured.

quote [ A bizarre crustacean, tagged the 'musical furry lobster', has been found in Australian waters for the first time. It's so unusual, with a furry shell and the ability to chirp, that scientists have placed it in its own genus. ]

I suppose necessity is the mother of invention. Evolution got the crazy idea in its head that lobsters needed to be a bit more pimped out, added in some fur and a sound system, and here you go.

+1 obscure Magic the Gathering reference. Or perhaps it was another reference that MtG in turn referenced, but I only got that one.

The French researchers who discovered the world's first specimen in the 1980s didn't realise its significance. So, they ate it for dinner.

fuckin’ french
KingPellinore said @ 10:44am GMT on 8th Jul
I realize that quote came directly from the article and, well...DAMN. Surely any scientist worth his or her salt would realize the significance of a lobster with GODDAMN FUR!!! "Rumor has it" the french ate it? Call me skeptical, but I think the author of the article inserted the "rumor has it" bit to thinly disguise a stupid anti-france joke.

Don't get me wrong, I've talked to (and smelled) my fair share of asshole frenchies. I've also talked to my fair share of nice ones who bathed regularly. But seriously, isn't the "french joke" somewhere on the same level of creativity as saying "I know you are but what am I?"
