So yeah, time to update Windows again. Is it Friday already? :-D
Thank God/Satan/Allah/Nothingness that I didn't go into MIS. I pity you sysadmins out there.

I pity you sysadmins out there.

That's why I'm in consulting.

This seems to be more than a month old. Am I missing something here?
DrPascal8 said @ 6:15pm GMT on 4th Jun
First I heard of it was today, via Slashdot. I figured that since I read a handful of nerd sites a day (i.e. Slashdot) and today was the first post I saw of it, it was relevant.... it could be old.

The only reason I bring it up is because of what it says on the page itself:
Issued: April 13, 2004
Updated: May 4, 2004
Version: 1.3
rangerx said @ 7:45pm GMT on 4th Jun
The patch was made public on those dates, but the virus that takes advantage of it is fairly new.

Why look, its a virus that affects unreleased software too! I cannot believe that I have to patch my XP64 machine yet again.

where are my DOS disks again?

Do you know what I love? IT snobs.

I always thought the oxymoron was the previous version of office "Microsoft Works"... but who knows :)

What is you favorite Oxymoron

Military Intelligence or Windows Security

Phyctup said @ 10:26pm GMT on 4th Jun
I prefer - Windows Intelligence and Military Security. Interesting how it is possible to reform these words and still get an Oxymoron. What are the chances of that? eh?

"Everyone's Favorite Oxymoron: Windows Security" +1 Funny

Talking of IT snobs.......There are rare occasion when I feel grateful that I am a Mac user. This would be one of those times.

favourite Oxymoron?

"Mac Compatible"
otherguy said @ 8:50pm GMT on 5th Jun
I'm not sure that qualifies as an oxymoron. I can't say I've run into enough things that claim to be mac compatible and aren't for it to qualify as an oxymoron.

Rare as the dodo maybe, but not an oxymoron.

I love chaos. A consistant lable for that which is inconsistant. It should choas, choos, chaas, chass, coas, etc.

*hugs mac laptop*

You may not have programs that'll work, but at least you've yet to explode into a firey ball of hell.

*Snuggles*

Don't hug too close. Apple recalled a whole model run due to batteries that caught fire. ;) (FWIW, I'm writing this on a TiBook that's sitting on my lap).
