quote [ Soon you could be reading a book printed on electronic paper. ]
I searched Sony Japan's site for more info, and they allready seem to have an ebook store online for users of the Librie here (though it doesn't seem active yet, but merely as an illustration of things that will be available for the device):
[sci&tech] [by solitude@12:05pmGMT] [+10 Interesting] http://www.sony.jp/products/Consumer/LIBRIE/contents/contents_01.html And some more details on how the screen works (with a great explanation image on how the grayscale stuff works) here: http://www.sony.jp/products/Consumer/LIBRIE/products/products_01.html Unfortunately all in japanese, but an image is worth a thousand words anyway. |

Combine this with the 1000s of public domain texts available on the internet, and you have a very happy me. |

That was to be expected though considering Sony designed part of it. Even so, it also has USB 2.0 which you can use to transfer documents to it's internal memory. |

besides being a proprietary media type what is so wrong about memory stick? especially considering many people with sony products already have them? sure panasonic's Secure digital is a better option but i dont know if i would base my opinion of this device simply on the flash media type? |

It would be better, if you could write to it also with a pen. It sounds kind of cheap to have only a small keyboard.... :P digital paper.... wants a digital pen also! |
